The Winter Dreams season continues with a mixed programme of Schönberg and Mozart in the capable hands of the famed Italian pianist Maurizio Pollini and Ensemble Wien-Berlin, a quintet of members of both cites' Philharmonic Orchestras. The evening begins with Schönberg's 'Wind Quintet Op 26', a piece composed in 1923-4 displaying both the substantiation of 12-tone music and Schönberg's return to the classical tradition. It continues with Mozart's Bach-influenced late works for mechanical organ scored for wind quintet and his 'Quintet for Piano, Oboe, Clarinet, Horn and Bassoon, E flat major, K 452'.
