Scuola Grande di San Rocco

When this building is seen from the outside it is nothing special. Yet if you step inside one of Venice's least visited and therefore most peaceful edifices you will see something that you will never forget. The walls and ceilings on both floors are covered in huge, magnificent canvases by Tintoretto, who dedicated some 25 years of his life to embellishing the already richly decorated halls with some of his greatest works. Other works by Titian, Tiepolo and Giorgione make this one of the best visits in town.
