The Gaiety Theatre is offering a stellar production of Sean O'Casey's 'The Plough and the Stars'. Noel Pearson presents Stephen Rea in what was once one of the most controversial plays in Irish theatre history. Set against a backdrop of the Easter Rising, this is probably one of the most performed plays in the world. Pearson manages to inject new life into a story that had an explosive effect on the audiences who watched the début of this tragicomedy, set in the slums of Dublin. Pearson is one of Ireland's foremost producers, making the move from theatre to movies with the Oscar-winning 'My Left Foot'.
